Our story
Connecting conscious-minded travelers with Hawaiian-owned businesses — because tourism should give back to the islands that make it possible.
The founder's story
The ocean, the wildlife, the people, the culture, and the lessons I've learned here have shaped my life in ways I never expected. As someone who wasn't born here, I've come to understand how important it is to support the local communities that make Hawaiʻi so special.
Blue Planet Eco Tours was created as a way to connect conscious-minded travelers directly with Hawaiian-owned and operated businesses. The goal is simple: help visitors spend their money where it has the greatest positive impact — supporting local families, local captains, local guides, and local entrepreneurs instead of large outside corporations.
Tourism is one of Hawaiʻi's largest industries, but too often the people and places that make these islands extraordinary don't see the full benefits of it. We believe travelers want to do better. They want their adventures to contribute to the communities they visit, not just pass through them.
This platform exists to make those connections easier.
"Every experience featured through Blue Planet Eco Tours is an opportunity to support local businesses, strengthen island communities, and encourage a more sustainable future for Hawaiʻi."— Founder, Blue Planet Eco Tours
Our operator standards
Every operator featured on Blue Planet Ecotours is personally reviewed before we partner with them. Here is what we look for:
100% owned and operated by people rooted in Hawaiʻi — no mainland corporations.
Operators must demonstrate genuine respect for Hawaiian culture and sacred sites.
Small environmental footprint, reef-safe policies, and responsible wildlife interaction.
Employees are treated fairly and compensated with dignity and respect.
Operators who give back to their local communities and invest in Hawaiʻi's future.
Every operator is individually reviewed — not just approved by an algorithm.
Our mission
Blue Planet Eco Tours is my small way of saying thank you to a place that has given me so much. Whether you're shark diving, exploring the coastline, or discovering a new local favorite, you're helping keep tourism dollars in the hands of the people who call these islands home.
My hope is that it inspires others to travel with intention, support local, and leave Hawaiʻi better than they found it.
Because at the end of the day, this isn't about business.
It's about giving back to Hawaiʻi.
